Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, the Director of Secondary Education has formed an inquiry committee to investigate the alleged suicide of Trisha Majumder.

**AGARTALA BUREAU, Tripura** **29th July, 2025 | Agartala** **NEWS REPORT** Following the directive of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, the Director of Secondary Education has formed an inquiry committee to investigate the alleged suicide of Trisha Majumder, a Class XII student of Sonarpur Higher Secondary School in Barpathari, Belonia. The inquiry committee comprises Lisa Bardhan, Joint Director of Elementary Education; Kajal Kumar Bhowmik, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Directorate of Secondary Education; and Sudip Sarkar, OSD at the office of the District Education Officer, West Tripura. Preliminary findings suggest that the student may have resorted to the extreme step after being scolded by a teacher at the school. The committee has been tasked with conducting a thorough probe into all possible aspects of the incident and is expected to submit its report by tomorrow.
